Celebrating the Winter Classic and Looking Ahead to Two More Iconic Gold Coast Golf Events

Three Events, One Incredible Destination: The Gold Coast

The Gold Coast has become synonymous with Signature Golf Tours, hosting three of our most popular events each year – the Winter Classic, Spring Classic, and Gold Coast Golf Week. With world-class golf courses, central accommodation, beautiful beaches, and endless dining and entertainment options, it’s easy to see why golfers return year after year.

Winter Classic 2026 Wrap-Up

Last week, we hosted the 6th Gold Coast Winter Classic, welcoming 235 players from across Australia and New Zealand. The week got off to a brilliant start with our Welcome Night at Topgolf—a fun, social evening full of laughs, friendly rivalry, and the perfect opportunity for players to meet, mingle, and get into the spirit of the week ahead.

Unfortunately for our players this year, we encountered some less than perfect weather, which saw us plagued by regular showers and rain throughout the rounds. Nonetheless, we still saw some fantastic scoring by our players.

Our players tackled four outstanding courses: Coolangatta Tweed Heads River Course, Links Hope Island, The Glades, and RACV Royal Pines. Each round was played in Single Stableford format, and while the competition was fierce, the camaraderie and friendships formed throughout the week were just as memorable.

A huge shoutout and thank you to the dedicated course staff at each of our host venues. The effort behind the scenes to get the courses playable and in the condition they were, given the weather, was greatly appreciated.

Only one golfer could come out on top for the week, and we’re very excited to announce our first female winner of the event, Samantha Brett, who is our Gold Coast Winter Classic Champion for 2026. Samantha held off our runner up Mark Hancock by three shots. Well done to both players on some fine golf. Congratulations must also go to the division winners from the week; Penny Barclay (Ladies), Kurt Rehbein (Division 1), Ian Harris (Division 2), and Luke Green (Division 3).

The Winter Classic is just one chapter in our Gold Coast story. Later in the year, we’ll return for the Spring Classic and in March 2027 with Gold Coast Golf Week – two more opportunities where players will experience some of the region’s best courses, vibrant hospitality, and the unique atmosphere that has made these events favourites among golfers from across Australia and New Zealand.

One of the reasons our Gold Coast events continue to be so popular is the convenience and seamless experience we provide for every player. From the moment guests arrive, everything is taken care of. Airport transfers, daily transport to and from the golf courses, golf bag handling and storage, accommodation, welcome functions, presentations, and event management are all included.

Our team works behind the scenes to ensure every detail runs smoothly, allowing players to simply relax, enjoy the company of fellow golfers, and focus on what they came for – enjoying playing golf on some of the Gold Coast’s best courses. It’s an stress-free golfing holiday where all you need to do is turn up, tee it up, and enjoy the experience.

We’re already looking forward to the 7th staging of the Winter Classic in 2027, with another exceptional course lineup featuring Brookwater, Palm Meadows, Hope Island, and Royal Pines.

One of the biggest reasons golfers return year after year is the incredible variety of courses available across the Gold Coast and South East Queensland, just to name a few below.

Hope Island Golf Club

Few golf courses create a stronger first impression than Hope Island Golf Club. Renowned for its immaculate conditioning and stunning presentation, this championship layout challenges golfers with strategic bunkering, water hazards, and pristine fairways.

Every hole feels carefully crafted, demanding thoughtful shot selection while rewarding players who execute well. The course consistently ranks among the finest golf experiences in Queensland and remains a favourite amongst our touring golfers.

Royal Pines Golf Club

A Gold Coast golfing icon, Royal Pines Golf Club has hosted some of Australia’s biggest professional tournaments over the years.

The championship layout offers a fantastic blend of risk and reward. Wide fairways provide opportunities to attack, while well-protected greens ensure every approach shot matters. With outstanding facilities and tournament-quality conditions, Royal Pines always feels like a special occasion.

Palm Meadows Golf Course

Palm Meadows has long been a favourite among visiting golfers.

The resort-style layout is enjoyable for players of all abilities, combining generous fairways with enough strategic elements to keep better golfers engaged. Water features, tropical landscaping, and excellent course conditioning create a relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for tournament golf.

It’s a course that encourages good scoring while still rewarding quality play.

Brookwater Golf & Country Club

For pure challenge, Brookwater Golf & Country Club is hard to beat.

Often regarded as one of Australia’s most demanding layouts, Brookwater combines dramatic elevation changes, narrow corridors, and stunning natural bushland. Designed by Greg Norman, it offers a golfing experience unlike anything found on the Gold Coast itself.

The course rewards brave shot-making and punishes poor decisions, making every round memorable. Love it or fear it, Brookwater is a course golfers never forget.

Why Golfers Keep Coming Back

Every year, hundreds of golfers join Signature Golf Tours on the Gold Coast, and many return time and time again.

The reason is simple. Few destinations combine championship golf courses, beachfront accommodation, vibrant nightlife, fantastic dining, and year-round sunshine quite like the Gold Coast.

It’s a place where you can challenge yourself on some of Australia’s best golf courses during the day and be dining by the beach with friends just hours later.

For golfers seeking the perfect blend of golf and lifestyle, the Gold Coast continues to set the standard — and that’s exactly why Signature Golf Tours proudly calls it home to three iconic events every year.

Public entries for the 2027 Winter Classic will open in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on your inbox for full event details and registration information.
