BARNBOUGLE
Barnbougle is a symphony of natural beauty—where rugged dunes meet the dramatic coastline of Tasmania’s northeast.
Known for its raw, untouched landscapes, Barnbougle is a haven where tranquility meets adventure. Wander through rolling dunes, breathe in the crisp, sea-swept air, and engage with a landscape that’s as challenging as it is beautiful. This Tasmanian gem is not just about scenic vistas; it’s a pilgrimage site for golf enthusiasts. The golf courses at Barnbougle are world-renowned, intricately designed to complement the natural contours of the land. With courses that have been sculpted by the elements and perfected by expert hands, Barnbougle offers an unparalleled golfing experience. The ever-changing weather adds to the challenge, ensuring that each round is as unpredictable as it is enjoyable. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or an eager beginner, Barnbougle promises an unforgettable journey in one of the world’s most spectacular golfing destinations.
Barnbougle – The Dunes
With its spectacular vistas of Tasmania’s North East Coast, Barnbougle Dunes is a links course unlike any other in Australia and is a fantastic example of traditional links golf.
Meandering along Tasmania’s dramatic North East Coast, it’s where breathtaking scenery and thrilling golf truly come together. The recipient of global accolades, Barnbougle Dunes was designed by U.S. Golf Visionary Tom Doak and Australian Mike Clayton to channel the traditional links courses of Scotland and Ireland.
Golf at The Dunes is a game of strategy, where each shot requires tactical thought and a little creativity can be rewarding.
A blend of fescue and bent grasses, the course flourishes in the coastal environment. Fairways are wide, wider than most golfers will have experienced on traditional courses. The greens are lively; rolling with the natural undulation of the dunes and with the 4th hole boasting the largest bunker in the southern hemisphere, this course is designed to challenge.
The greens at Barnbougle Dunes run at speeds closely resembling the original greens of the great British links. Contoured in tune with the tumbling land around them, the greens feature a combination of broad slopes and ridges through the playing lines.

Barnbougle – Lost Farm
Just a short pitching wedge across the river from The Dunes lies Barnbougle’s second instalment, Lost Farm. Designed and built by world-renowned US golf course design company Coore & Crenshaw, Lost Farm has quickly captured the attention of international golfers of all abilities.
Despite their close proximity, Lost Farm is remarkably different from The Dunes. Lost Farm features 20 holes, all of which are playable in any one round, and the course layout tracks along the coast and inland amongst sand dunes that are significantly steeper than those featured at The Dunes.
The strategic bunkering and undulating greens combined with wide fairways make for a course that offers an exciting challenge for golfers of all abilities.
Barnbougle has numerous lodging options including the 3.5-star Cottages At The Dunes, the 4 Bed Bunker Villas, the 2 Bedroom Ocean Villas, and the Luxury Golf Lodge at Lost Farm. Regardless of your group size and budget, Barnbougle has accommodation suitable to your needs.

Bougle Run
Set atop the dramatic sand dunes behind Lost Farm, Bougle Run, is the 14-hole short course at Barnbougle.
Designed by internationally acclaimed Golf Architect Bill Coore, Bougle Run’s 14 holes consist of 12 par-3’s and two par 4’s which sit on the tall, undulating coastal dunes between Lost Farm’s front and back 9.
The route, which includes some of the highest points of the entire Barnbougle complex, is set slightly back from the coastline, providing aerial-like views over the Lost Farm Course and Anderson’s Bay.
A fun, challenging addition to Barnbougle’s two world top 100 courses, Bougle Run is designed for golfers of all abilities and the perfect option to sate your golf appetite in just 90 minutes.
