Royal Adelaide Golf Club
The Royal Adelaide Golf Club is one of Australia’s most prestigious and historically significant golf clubs. Established in August 1892, it originally started in the North Parklands before moving to its current location in Seaton in 1906. The Royal Adelaide Golf Club is a par 72 course, stretching over 6557 meters, and has a slope rating of 133. The Grange Golf Club
The Grange Golf Club is renowned for its two internationally rated 18-hole golf courses, the West and the East, both offering unique golfing experiences. The West Course, a classic golf course featuring tall pine trees, tight greens, and well-placed bunkers, was first opened in 1926 and later redesigned in 2007 by Mike Clayton Golf Designs. This course is laid out on excellent golfing country, accentuated by wide corridors, Callitris and Monterey Pines, and expansive native grass areas.
The East Course, originally designed by Vern Morcom and opened in 1967, underwent redevelopment by Greg Norman Golf Course Design, reopening in 2012. Its strategic design features flatter ground on the front nine, transitioning to some of the best golfing land on the property on the back nine. The course challenges players with decisions on tee shot lines, incorporating bunkers and native areas that offer premium lines into greens seamlessly set into surrounding undulations.
The Grange Golf Club is the current host of LIV Adelaide and has also hosted several other major tournaments, including the 2016 ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open, the prestigious World Amateur Teams Championships, and the Australian Amateur Championships. Greg Norman, a golfing great, won his first professional victory at the West Lakes Classic held at this club, highlighting its significance in the world of golf.

Glenelg Golf Club
Glenelg Golf Club, established in 1927, is a private golf club located in Adelaide. It is recognized as one of Australia’s premier golfing facilities and is currently ranked within the top 40 golf courses in the country.
The 18-hole golf course at Glenelg is a par 71, measuring 6,267 meters in length. It features couch grass fairways and bent grass greens. The course design, which includes revetted-edge style bunkering, is reminiscent of traditional Scottish links courses. The course was designed by Herbert ‘Cargie’ Rymill in 1927, with later contributions by Vern Morcom in 1954 and a renovation by Neil Crafter and Bob Tuohy in 1998. In 2016, Glenelg Golf Club was ranked 25th among the top 100 Australian courses by Golf Australia Magazine.
Glenelg Golf Club has hosted several state and national championships, including the South Australian Open and the Australian Amateur Championships. The course record is held by Brett Drewitt (Men) with a score of 64 and Minjee Lee (Women) with a score of 65.

Kooyonga Golf Club
Kooyonga Golf Club is renowned for its rich history and championship-quality golf course. The club was founded in 1923 when H.L ‘Cargie’ Rymill, a South Australian golf pioneer, purchased a stretch of swampland and sand hills known as May’s Paddock. Recognizing its potential for great golf, Rymill designed the first nine holes, which opened within a few months, and by June 1924, a full 18-hole course was ready for play.
The course at Kooyonga is known for its challenging layout, requiring strategic thinking and skillful play. The late Peter Thomson, after winning the 1972 Australian Open Championship at Kooyonga, described the course as one that “needs to be played with the head as much as the hands.”
Kooyonga Golf Club has hosted numerous prestigious tournaments, including six Australian Opens (five men’s and one women’s), twenty South Australian Opens, and two Australian Amateur Championships. The club has a tradition of attracting the world’s greatest golfers, including Walter Hagen, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Greg Norman.

West Lakes Golf Club
West Lakes Golf Club is recognized for its challenging and well-maintained 18-hole golf course. The club, originally known as Riverside Golf Club, started as the Woodville Gardens Golf Club in 1934 and transitioned to its current location in 1951 due to the post-war building boom in the late 1940s. Over the years, the club has undergone significant changes, including a name change, clubhouse renovations, and course improvements.
The course itself presents a challenging Par 70 layout, stretching over 5,632 meters, and is known for its tight and testing design. This layout was completed in early 2011, making it a more challenging course for golfers.
