The Sandbelt Trophy

Four incredible courses, a fantastic week of golf and plenty of special moments made!

Our 2026 Sandbelt Trophy has come to an end after a fantastic week exploring some of Melbourne’s finest golf courses. From The Metropolitan and Woodlands to Victoria and Huntingdale, it was a week showcasing just how special Sandbelt golf really is!

Round 1 - The Metropolitan Golf Club

We kicked things off with a welcome dinner at The Pub at Crown Promenade before heading to The Metropolitan Golf Club for round one.

Despite a wet and dreary morning, the sun eventually came out for our afternoon shotgun start. The course was in excellent condition, with the impressive greens a real highlight.

Round 2 – Woodlands Golf Club

A much better day weather-wise greeted the group at Woodlands, with just a quick passing shower to remind us we were in Melbourne! It was great to return to this wonderful course and see the ongoing work and improvements helping maintain its reputation as one of Australia’s best.

Round 3 – Victoria Golf Club

Victoria Golf Club delivered a standout day, with the course in exceptional condition as the club championships were underway. Fast and firm greens running at over 13 on the Stimpmeter, immaculate fairways and challenging bunkers made for a fantastic test of golf. It’s also a personal favourite, so there were plenty of photos taken along the way!

Round 4 – Huntingdale Golf Club

Our final round took us to Huntingdale, the long-time home of the Australian Masters. Having undergone a major restoration over the past couple of years, the course has only recently reopened, making this a particularly special visit for our group.

We were actually the last visiting group to play Huntingdale before it closed for renovations in October 2023, so it was fantastic to return and see the transformation. The feedback from our golfers was overwhelmingly positive, with the excellent green complexes, refreshed bunkering and improved fairways all receiving plenty of praise. We can’t wait to see Huntingdale continue to flourish over the coming years!

A Few Results Worth Celebrating!

2026 Sandbelt Trophy Champion: Adam Small – 101 points (countback), with rounds of 36, 29 and 36 points.

Runner-Up: Luke Green – 101 points, with rounds of 34, 37 and 30 points.

Congratulations to Adam and Luke on fantastic performances, and well done to everyone who took part!

Round of the Week: Kellen Jenner took the honours with an impressive 39 points at The Metropolitan Golf Club.

A huge thank you to The Metropolitan, Woodlands, Victoria and Huntingdale Golf Clubs for their wonderful hospitality and for looking after our group so well. Thanks also to Crown Promenade for hosting us throughout the week.

That’s a wrap on the 2026 Sandbelt Trophy! A brilliant week of golf, four very special courses and great company along the way. We look forward to doing it all again!
