Aussie Adam

Adam Scott

Adam Scott is no doubt one of our best local Aussie golf exports. The first Australian to win the US Masters, 31 worldwide wins including two WGC’s, a Players, two Australian PGA’s and an Australian Open. He also owns arguably the best swing in golf.

Not only is he one of the best golfers out of Australia, he is also a wonderful ambassador for the game in our country. Adam is one of the few big name players that come home basically every year to support our major events, the Australian Open and Australian PGA Championship. Sadly, the number of big events has declined over the last decade, but Scotty still returns home to tee it up and do his best to promote the local tours. Unfortunately this isn’t the case for some of our other big name stars. The argument is that the events are too small, carry too little prizemoney, clash with other events with bigger purses, too far to travel home after a big end of the season in the US, and so on.

Not to be...

Old Course

Like the vast majority of people, business/work is pretty much at a standstill at this point in time due to covid-19. It’s hard not to get despondent at the thought of having to cancel all of our clients trip from March to who knows when, especially since there were a lot of epic trips involved! From custom trips to Hua Hin and Las Vegas to our Adelaide State of Origin Tour, which would have marked the first time an Origin game would be played in the City of Churches.

Apart from all the amazing client trips we had arranged and ultimately had to cancel or postpone, there is one trip in particular that hits a little harder. This July, my good friend Brendan, who also helps out a little with trips and tournaments, and I were booked to head to Scotland for a little golfing trip. In 2018, Brendan spent 6 weeks travelling throughout Scotland and Ireland playing some of the most revered golf courses in the World, drinking whisky, and taking in the history of the game.

For those golfers in South East Queensland, we're planning a post covid-19 bus trip to Bonville to to celebrate the end of lockdown, enjoy some golf with mates, and inject some much needed money into the tourism, hospitality and golf industries, which have all been hit hard during the crisis. The trip will comprise of three nights accommodation, four rounds of golf, motorised carts, all transport, and we'll even throw in some prizes.

Obviously we will have to wait until restrictions have been lifted for travel, golf, and social distancing before we can conduct the trip, but we're getting a gauge of numbers to see how much interest is about. Rest assured we won't be running the trip until it is safe to do so as client safely is our number one priority. The trip will run either Thursday to Sunday or Friday to Monday, with the below itinerary;

2020 Australian Golf Course Rankings

Tuesday 14th April 2020

Royal Melbourne

The 2020 Australian Golf Course Rankings have recently been released by Australian Golf Digest, which I was lucky enough to be on the judging panel. Below you can find the complete list of the rankings. There hasn’t been a great deal of movement within the top 20, the most notable additions to the rankings being both of the Peninsula Kingswood courses, North landing at 6th, and South coming in at 20th. Both rankings are not surprising given the recent renovations conducted by Ogilvy Clayton Cocking Mead (OCCM).
